<FOR CHERRY CREEK RESERVOIR>
Ahoy << primary_nameFirst >>!
We are so excited to have you join us next week for << sessionName >>!
Your Cherry Creek Shore Director is: (based on that specific week’s schedule – we will email you their direct contact information in your reminder email)
Please contact ____ (texting is best) if you have any on-site needs relating to your child during program hours. Please only message between the business hours of 8am-4pm.
Below is some basic info about camp:
What to Bring:
- Water – Please pack enough water for the entire day (insulated bottles and ice is recommended). We do have water refill stations available but in our strictly outdoor environment, it is difficult to regulate the temperature.
- Lunch
- Towel
- Sunscreen labeled with your child’s first and last name
- Extra Set of Dry Clothes: Colorado weather can change quickly. Cloud cover, rain, and a windy day can suddenly feel cold. Please pack a sweatshirt and a dry change of clothes just in case.
- Wear a bathing suit to camp and already have sunscreen on prior to drop-off.
- Wear close-toed shoes (water shoes, crocs with a back strap, or old sneakers work great).
- If you have them – PFD and helmet (bike helmets are fine). The ones we supply will be assigned to each camper for the week. Although it is definitely not mandatory if you are able to provide your own, your child will most likely be more comfortable in the gear they’re used to wearing.
- Check the weather and make sure your child comes prepared for varied temperatures. Rain pants and rain jackets are great for blocking wind to keep warm.
Inclement Weather
We will do our best to keep campers in camp all day unless there is an imminent ongoing weather-related safety concern. In the event of severe inclement weather for a prolonged time period, there may be an optional early dismissal. We will do our best to verbally warn everyone at drop-off, but we do ask that parents monitor the weather and be prepared for different weather scenarios. We will be texting parents in such a situation, so please be cognizant of this. The early dismissal is optional, so we will stay with those who aren’t being picked up early and provide relevant sailing-based educational activities behind the Lake House building under shelter on their covered back patio.
Tipping
Our instructors work very hard to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our summer camps. Please consider tipping if you feel that your child has had an exceptional experience in our camp . It is certainly not expected or required but is always appreciated (suggested amount $20).
Medications, Allergies, and Required Camp forms
If applicable, please make sure to upload the required documents if your child will be bringing an inhaler or epi pen for medical concerns. This can be done in your UltraCamp account. Please check your account for any missing tasks that still need to be completed. This includes updating your authorized pick-up list. Instructors will be using the authorized pick up list to ensure your child gets picked up safely by an approved person.
What to Expect on the first day:
Unless you have a State Parks Pass, the park entrance fee is required (however there is not always a gate attendant to collect payment). Camp check-in will begin promptly at 9:00 am in the parking lot just past the West boat ramp. If you arrive earlier than 9, please note that staff may still be setting up for the day, and will not be able to greet you right away. CSC staff and signs will clearly indicate specifically where. Children should come with sunscreen already on as this makes drop-off much more efficient.
Afternoon Pick-Up will begin at 3:15 and ends at 3:30pm. All campers should be picked up no later than 3:30pm so that our instructors can clean up and get prepared for the next day.
If you have any questions, please take a look at our FAQs page as this will answer 90% of your questions. For anything else, please know that we are short-staffed at the admin level so we appreciate your patience in advance and look forward to getting your child on the water next week!
Smooth seas and fair weather,
The Entire CSC Team
Specific Directions to Our Cherry Creek Reservoir Location: We are located in Cherry Creek State Park in Greenwood Village. Come in through the West entrance (by Cherry Creek High School). Then just follow the road (W. Lake View Rd) down and take your first left onto Marina Access Rd. Follow that road past the signs to the boat ramp/ inspection station and look for the CSC staff directing cars to park in the lot just after the West Boat Ramp. This is where we will go through our check-in process, and then direct your child to the area in which their Camp Instructor will be awaiting them.
