Sponsorship Makes A Difference

CSC relies on sponsors to help continue impacting our community through low to no-cost adaptive and community partnership sailing events. Ways you can sponsor:

  • Sponsor a Sail
  • Sponsor a Community Partnership Event
  • Sponsor your own Corporate Team Building Event
  • T-shirt and helmet sponsorship
  • Van Sponsorship
  • Table Sponsorship at our Annual Fundraiser
  • Product Sponsorship at our Gala

CSC’s Adaptive Sailing Program breaks down barriers for participants living with physical and cognitive disabilities. Utilizing specialized equipment and unique programming, CSC teaches sailing to members of our community regardless of ability.

CSC offers programs during the months of April to October in both Boulder and Denver.

Mission: “Make sailing in Colorado accessible to all. Teach skills, build confidence & have fun!”

Vision: “Our community, enriched by the sailing experience.”

How we do this: Provide a summer camp sailing experience to all youth regardless of financial abilities. Sliding-scale and full scholarships are available to make these programs affordable for those who could not otherwise afford it. We offer free sail nights during the summer months as well as host series of free adaptive sailing events to the community.

Community Sailing provides youth with a safe place to learn basic and advanced sailing techniques, and upon learning the basics of sailing provide the use of sailboats to practice sailing and further that knowledge. Instruction is both practical and theoretical; including on-water drills and instruction and theoretical on-shore discussion. Sailing topics include boat handling, right of way, safety, navigation and docking.

Personal skills developed in a sailing environment include self-confidence, safety awareness, good communication, planning, thoughtful decision making, self-sufficiency, teamwork, and other skills that will carry on into a youth’s life.

Sailing classes are conducted by professional US Sailing certified sailing instructors; and are assisted by volunteer instructors. All testing is conducted by US Sailing and Community Sailing certified instructors.

We like to call these our “manual auxiliary motors.” Single sided canoe paddles are needed for many or our sailboats and powerboats. The retractable/ telescoping ones are ideal but static one-sided paddles will also get put to good use. Please contact us if you would like to donate a canoe paddle.

Nice Camera
High Quality Camera with Zoom Lens
We lost two very nice camera’s last year (one to theft and one to water damage). We rely on our cameras for great quality photos that get shared with our camper’s parents so they can see what an incredible time their children are having on the water. Zoom lenses are incredibly important to our program as well. Please contact us if you have a high quality, good condition, camera that you would be willing to donate.

Old Climbing Rope
We would love to have any old climbing rope that has been retired from its mountain state use. This rope is perfect for bowlines, and thinner rope (such as twin rope thickness) is great to use for maintsheets. Please contact us if you’d like to donate used climbing rope.
