COMING THIS FALL! Community Sailing of Colorado is partnering with New England Sailing & Science (NESS) to provide education through an accredited STEM curriculum. NESS offers a suite of more than 200 in-person lessons and 50 synchronous Online Experiential Learning classes —all mapped to Next Generation Science Standards, Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning SEL standards sets, and aligned with the Ocean Literacy Principles. Every NESS class includes a hands-on experiment.
NESS is an award-winning sailing school recognized nationally for its innovations in sailing and education. They are accredited through New England Association of Schools and Colleges and they have chosen Community Sailing of Colorado as the only outside partnership in the country to be Certified NESS Educators. We are beyond honored to be associated with and trained by the country’s best sailing STEM education experts.
This fall we will be opening up registration for in-home, or online learning modules specific to sailing-related STEM education. This could look like a once-weekly series or a more intensive few days in a row. We invite home-school groups to coordinate and organize together in order for us to maximize reach. We can accommodate groups of 5-10 participants ages 8+. For our in-home learning: you provide the learning space, we’ll come to you with the tools and curriculum (available only in the Denver/Boulder area). For those who are outside of our catchment area, we offer online learning modules as well.
If you want to be the first to hear about registration opening CLICK HERE to sign up for this specific mailing list. Once our cost model has been determined it will be posted here.
